Thank you for visiting this site. In the gallery section you will find work based on themes that spring from social issues pertaining to social justice, equality and ethics. The gallery contains a collection of commisioned pieces and paintings with a Latin American style.
My painting emulates the Latin American reality - the customs, the culture, and the issues; my goal is to bring together that world and the North American experience. I retain the iconography of the Peruvian painting tradition, using folkloric symbols to humanize or give an identity to the great masses of people that lie behind the title “Latin America”. I use heavily textured surfaces to give the painting a tactile dimension that enhances the viewer’s experience of the piece and to make the image more of a present reality and not just a graphic illusion about some people who live somewhere to the south.
